Title: Sit and Ponder. My daughter left for twelve months abroad and the house went quiet in a way I hadn't anticipated. Life kept moving all around me — busy, colourful, insistent — but I needed to be still. This painting came from that place. The honeyeater in the centre doesn't need to go anywhere. He sits in the middle of everything and simply chooses where his gaze lands. Some seasons ask us to be the bird — not the branches. To let the world swirl around us while we find our own stillness within it. This is that season. Acrylic & oils on linen, primed, W 76 cm x H 102 cm x D 3.5 cm
Title: Blessed. She was waiting for me. I turned a corner on my morning walk and there she was — a flowering gum so laden with bloom she seemed to be offering herself up to the world. There was something almost sacred about the moment. The light, the colour, the sheer generosity of her. Some mornings nature stops you in your tracks and reminds you that beauty asks nothing of us except to be witnessed. I consider myself blessed to have been the one who walked by that day. Acrylic & oils on canvas, 41 cm x 51 cm.
